International Women's Day (IWD) is a global vacation celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate the artistic, political, and socioeconomic achievements ofwomen.It's also a focal point in the women's rights movement, bringing attention to issues similar as gender equivalency, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women. 
 International Women's Day is commemorated in a variety of ways worldwide; it's a public vacation in several countries, and observed socially or locally in others.

History of International Women's Day?

IWD has been celebrated for over a century now, but numerous people suppose of it purely as a feminist cause. Its roots, still, are plant in the labour movement, wherein it was first organised in 1911 by the early 20th century Marxist from Germany Clara Zetkin. 
Zetkin was born in 1857 in Wiederau, where she trained as a schoolteacher, and was associated with the Social Democratic Party (SPD) — one of the two major political parties in Germany. She shared in both labour movement and women’s movement.
